About this session

Java has powered enterprise software for decades, and the AI era is opening its next chapter. This keynote explores how the language and the JVM are growing alongside AI, and why the community is so well placed to lead.

Rather than diving into a single framework, we take a wide view: the expanding role of Java in AI-enabled systems, the strengths that make it a trusted base for large-scale, reliable applications, and the platform advances shaping what comes next, from the Vector API and structured concurrency to Project Leyden and ahead-of-time improvements.

It is also an invitation to think bigger. Java developers can go beyond using AI coding tools to building the AI-powered applications and services themselves. We close with how Java works alongside newer AI technologies and frameworks, and the skills worth developing over the next few years.
